Reservation and Other Policies of the Inn
Payments, Deposits, Etc.

  • A credit card will hold your reservation under most circumstances.* (Groups require a 25% non-refundable deposit.)
  • We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
  • Your credit card will be charged for the entire cost of your scheduled stay if cancellation of your reservation is NOT received at least seven (7) days prior to your scheduled date of arrival.
  • Special rates may be available for large groups staying two days or longer.
  • Ask about our Golf, National Parks, Theater  and other special packages.

Information about Green Gate's Rates & Policies

General Terms & Conditions. The above rates are based on double occupancyRates may be higher during holidays or local special events. For each additional person per room using existing bedding there is a $20 per night charge. Posted rates do not include state and local taxes of 11.5%. Package rates and/or other special discounts may not be combined.  Fixed government rates or specially negotiated commercial rates are for single occupancy only.
Government Rates - City, County, State & Federal Government  rates are always single-occupancy and may be available for selected standard rooms during our off-season and then only from Sunday through Thursday, subject to availability. These rates do not include breakfast as meals, while traveling on a government per diem, are treated as a separate line-item expense. Additional guest: $20.00 each per night. Other discounted rates may be available by prior special arrangement.
Children may only stay at the Village by making prior satisfactory arrangements with the management. 
No Smoking.  Due to the historic and irreplaceable nature of this facility, there is absolutely "No Smoking" or open flames (i.e. candles, etc.) allowed in any room or building.  Also, no pets are allowed at any time.  Violators will be asked to immediately "check-out" and depart the premises, with no refund. In addition, a special cleaning charge (not less than $300) may be imposed. 
*Cash Deposit Policy. Multi-night and/or multi-room stays may require a non-refundable deposit as follows: A 25% non-refundable deposit is required no less than 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival on all reservations of four (4) or more room nights and on all reservations during the month of October. At our sole discretion and in lieu of a credit card guarantee, the innkeeper may require prepayment of the full amount of all room charges for any stay at the Village (including tax) plus a deposit in an amount sufficient to cover estimated incidental charges, additional guest(s) in room charges, excess cleaning expenses, etc. The amount of the deposit may also be established at the sole discretion of the innkeeper. Any prepayments and deposits so required must be received by the Village in US funds (in the form of cash or certified check only) no less than 30 days prior to your scheduled check-in date. Your deposit, minus any "incidental", "additional guest(s)" and/or "excess cleaning" charges, will be returned to you within 48 hours after your departure. Said refund will be made to you by the Village by depositing with the US mail a company check payable to you and addressed to your address of record.  Changes to this or any other provision of the Reservation Policy may be changed at any time without advanced notice.

Overbooking. We have made every effort to provide our worldwide guests with an easy, seamless method to book a room with us, on-line, 24 hours a day from anywhere on the globe. While we are proud of our ability as a small historic inn to have such worldwide, on-line exposure through Expedia.com, Travelocity.com, Hotels.com, Lodging.com, WorldRes and others, including more than 300,000 travel agents using traditional airline Global Distribution Systems (GDS), the success of this reservations network all hinges on the ability of our local Internet service provider to maintain the ISP link from our global reservations partners to our in-house computer system. While it is never our policy to purposely overbook, and it is extremely rare that it occurs, it has happened....and probably will again. Unfortunately, no system can guarantee 100% uptime. Therefore, in such a rare occurrence, it is our policy to compensate anyone who has been thus inconvenienced by offering them similar accommodations with us in the future at 1/2 the normal rate. Naturally, we will also make every reasonable effort to assist any guest so displaced in rebooking elsewhere for that immediate evening. While we recognize that it is impossible to ever fully recapture interrupted travel plans, we believe that you will agree that there are just some things in life that are beyond our control. We greatly appreciate your understanding at such times and we always value any constructive suggestions that you may have to help us mitigate this type of occurrence in the future. 

Room & Pool Keys.  Yes, we still use old-fashioned room keys which our guests are obligated to return to the front desk at the time of check-out.  If room and pool keys are not returned at the time of check-out, the guest will be charged a replacement fee equal to $30 for each key not returned.

Refusal of Service. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, the management and staff of the Green Gate Village Historic Inn reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time.

Information about Breakfast Rates

**Breakfast is included with the price of your room (double occupancy except for fixed government or specially negotiated commercial rates or as otherwise noted above). All other guests are welcome to join us for breakfast for a charge of $10 each. However, such reservations for breakfast are required at least 12 hours in advance.
