The Bentley House (circa 1876) |
|
This beautiful pioneer home has been converted into an extremely charming restaurant. There are two dining rooms on the ground floor: The Parlor, complete with front-facing bay window, hand-cranked Victrola and period fireplace, seats 20. The Garden Room seats 25 and is also the Inn's airy, later-addition breakfast room. It hosts the original, wood-burning, cast-iron stove as well as a classic, old pump organ. Both rooms are connected by a smaller "music room" which can easily accommodate another 6-8 guests if necessary. The Bentley House was built in 1876 of native adobe by early local merchant William Bentley. Both the inside and outside walls are 18" thick. All furnishings are early Victorian. The house has a full commercial kitchen. |
